With an original background in drama and dance, Natascha began to take a keen interest in the potential benefits of Yoga after discovering how a regular practice helped to heal parts of the body that had become overstretched and overworked. As a proud graduate of the Yoga Academy where she trained under Simon Low and his superb international teaching faculty, as well as Susannah Hoffmans training to teach Yoga to children at Triyoga London, she has taught for various different health clubs in south west London and Surrey UK, along with co-hosting biannual weekend retreats in the Swiss Alps, while also featured twice at Omyogashow in London. In 2017 she was Resident Yoga Instructor at the award-winning resort, The Bodyholiday in St.Lucia, teaching a wide range of both group and private Yoga classes to guests on both the tree house and ocean decks as well as paddle-board Yoga on the stunning Caribbean Sea. There she was greatly inspired by many people she met from around the globe that included Olympic and elite athletes, wonderful fellow Yoga teachers, as well as fitness/well-being professionals. Natascha is passionate about sharing her love of Yoga and how it can help find life’s balance by awakening profound senses of inner calm and silent strength.
Day 1: AM
We will begin the day with a talk/discussion about how the ancient Yoga Sutra by Patanjali is still so relevant to the world we live in today. What does ‘stilling the whirlpools of the mind' mean, do we have to quiet the mind, or can we turn what may be perceived as noise into a concerto? Also, what are the Eight Limbs of Yoga? Those Yamas and Niyamas can give our physical practice profound depth.
Day 1: PM
Welcome chant followed by evening Hatha yoga practice.
Day 2: AM
Beginning with a pranayama breathing exercise to emphasize the calming exhalation, we will then discuss this life force! Our prana! We all breathe naturally but in what kind of way? It's impossible to breath deeply from the upper chest but when we’re stressed, busy and often just getting on with everyday life we can be shallow breathing without even realising it. “Breath control gives man strength, vitality, inspiration and magic powers”, so an ancient Sage once said.
Day 2: PM
Gentle vinyasa flow practice.
Day 3: AM
Sunrise Yoga: we will awaken the body by practicing a series of sun salutations. This dynamic Yang practice builds heat to energize the body, and sometimes if it's cloudy or raining, can even bring the sun out! Followed by mid-morning paddle-board yoga.
Day 3: PM
Restorative Yoga: our lives can be so go, go, go and if you have a dynamic exercise regime to go along with it, something has to give, but this is where restorative Yin yoga can play such a vital role helping to de-stress, and with its ability to relax and release tired aching muscles it can also be a superb complement to sport.
Day 4: AM
Vinyasa Flow core strength. Bruce Lee was once to have said “My strength comes from the abdomen, it's the centre of gravity and the source of real power."
Day 4: PM
Yoga Nidra Sleep {Yogic Sleep} is our natural power source, as we plug in our phones and tablets to recharge at night, in theory when our head hits the pillow and we close our eyes we’re hopefully also recharging ourselves, but if you hit the pillow and that mind chatter starts, this is where Yoga Nidra can work wonders. In this session we will look at both Yoga Nidra and pranayama breathing exercises that can help to calm the mind and body in preparation of a blissful sleep.
